Chapter 07

Positioning as research synthesis

pralkexun treats positioning as a disciplined summary of Claude patterns — claims a sponsor can say aloud without inventing ROI or pretending the sample was a census.

Positioning draft notes beside research cards

From cards to claims

Take your strongest Claude stack from pattern synthesis. For each card, draft one claim sentence that uses buyer language, names the friction or desire, and stays inside the evidence. If the card is “thin,” the claim must sound provisional — or wait for more fieldwork via interviews and observation.

Good positioning answers: who this is for, what problem language they use, why alternatives fail them, and what proof you can show without theater. Bad positioning answers imaginary market percentages. pralkexun’s framework keeps a proof column next to every claim.

The pralkexun claim sheet

  • Audience slice (role + context), not a cartoon persona.
  • Friction named with Claude label.
  • Alternative rejected (and why, in their words).
  • Offer promise bounded by evidence.
  • Proof type: quote, workflow demo, process artifact — never invented ROI.
Positioning is what you can defend when a skeptical decision-maker is in the room.

Test drafts with the roles mapped in decision-maker research. If security hears risk inflation, revise. If users hear empty status talk, revise. Touchpoints in touchpoint mapping tell you where the claim must survive first contact.

Claim quality checks

Evidence link

Every sentence points to a Claude card ID. No orphan slogans.

Role survival

Sponsor, user, and control roles can each hear a version without cringe.

Friction honesty

Acknowledges stalls from purchase friction instead of pretending the path is frictionless.

Non-claims

Explicitly avoids representative stats and ROI guarantees. See glossary.
